Layla has a couple of new tricks since last month - she can give hi-fives (Nick taught her that), and if you ask her "Where is my nose?", she will reach out and touch it on your face! Still not crawling up on all fours, but she's making definite strides towards it - she's gotten up on her knees and rocked so I know she's going to just take off one day soon! So, we are working on lots of weight bearing activities to get those little legs nice and strong, which she loves - she's always liked to stand.
Layla is taking four 6 oz bottles a day, drinks about 6 oz of water, and eats three meals a day, consisting of fruit, veggies, and puffs. She's loved all the table foods we've given her so far, so we are slowly starting to add more solids to her diet as well.
One biggie from this past month - we have teeth! (Or, "tee-fees", as I tend to call them because they are so cute!!) I tried and tried to get a picture but it's just not happening. I don't have a good enough camera to catch the split second where she's not wiggling away from our hands and you can actually see something...
I'm not sure if it's the teeth finally breaking through, the three meals a day, or just her age in general but she has gotten a lot better with her sleeping habits. She goes to sleep around 7:30 and will maybe wake up once or twice on a bad night, but it's usually just because she's lost her pacifier and she goes right back to sleep once I find it for her. Her wake up time varies, especially with the time change. She'll get up anytime between 5-6:30 AM and take her first bottle, and depending on how early it is, maybe go back to sleep. She's definitely up for good by 7.
Here are some pics from the last month...Layla, we love you more and more every day, sweet girl!
Ready for a walk! |
Bathtime is still her favorite. And just as an FYI, when I first walked in to the bathroom, Nick turned to me and had a yellow "A" stuck to his forehead but wouldn't let me take a picture. No fun.
8 months? Seriously... I do not feel like it has been that long ago. Love the one in the hat. What a sweetheart!
